LGBTQIA

In my experience, LGBTQIA clients feel more comfortable with a therapist who is familiar with the norms and struggles of the LGBTQIA community. At CGC, affirming gay identity is as inherident as our breath. Unfortunatly, in the the LGBTQIA community, people are often marginalized. Research indicates that homophobia, transphobia, gender-role stereotyping, and lack of acceptance by family and traditional social norms have a negative impact on our psyche. Research indicates higher rates of depression and suicidal ideation in the LGBTQIA community. Hence, at CGC, we will explore emotional and mental pain associated with identity confusion and we will explore systemic issues impacting your well being. The desire is to empower you to move towards self-love, self-trust, and self-acceptance.
